VCU TCD recently completed a major refit on board the UK-155 “Friendship”. During the project, various technical systems were renewed and modernised, ensuring the vessel is fully prepared for the upcoming operating season.
A key part of the project was the supply and installation of a new Volvo Penta D13 main engine, equipped with an SCR aftertreatment system. In addition, new auxiliary engines and deck wash pumps were installed in the engine room. With these upgrades, the UK-155 is equipped with a reliable and future-proof propulsion and auxiliary systems installation.
In addition to the work carried out in the engine room, the exhaust systems and part of the piping were also renewed. On the aft deck, the VCU TCD team designed, fabricated, and installed a completely new exhaust trunk. By carrying out these various upgrades within a single project, the renewed systems integrate seamlessly, ensuring the vessel is once again technically prepared for intensive operation.
With this extensive modernisation, the UK-155 “Friendship” is equipped with a durable and reliable technical installation that supports safe and efficient operations on board. VCU TCD looks back with pride on the successful completion of this project and would like to thank the client for their trust. We wish the crew of the UK-155 “Friendship” safe voyages and many successful hours at sea.
