Over the past period, VCU has certainly not been standing still. Across multiple vessels, extensive work has been carried out on maintenance, upgrades, and innovative solutions. Thanks to the dedication and expertise of our team, a wide range of projects has been successfully completed.
Highlights of the work carried out:
UK 155
The main engine has been installed, along with two new auxiliary engines and various pumps. In addition, extensive aluminium work was completed, including a new exhaust shaft and several deck modifications.
UK 35
A new masthead was installed and substantial steelwork was carried out. The gunwales and booms were clad in stainless steel en fitted with new patents. The catch processing system was also upgraded.
UK 38
The flyshoot winches were overhauled, while the stern guidance system and blocks were replaced with stainless steel components. New engine room ventilation was installed, and air conditioning was fitted in the wheelhouse.
BCK 40
New inner bottoms were installed in the net storage area. The goosenecks and booms were overhauled, and various repair works were completed.
UK 34
A hull plate repair was carried out on this vessel.
TX 36
A new conveyer belt system for catch processing was installed. In addition, work is currently underway in our workshop on a new stainless steel SumWing.
UK 371
New hull plates and stainless steel components were installed in the fish hold.
UK 172
New auxiliary engines were installed in the engine room. In addition, VCU Safetycentre succesfully carried out the hull thickness measurement for SI at Van Laar.
