In cooperation with Scheepswerf Balk Urk B.V., VCU carried out various load tests on board the Awatea last week.
During these operations, several cranes, pad eyes, and safety rail systems were tested using a load cell in combination with a water bag or anchor tester. These tests were performed to verify the load capacity and reliability of the systems, lifting equipment, and attachment points.
The extensive testing confirmed that the installations can be safely used during the vessel’s next voyage following the completed maintenance period.
