VCU, the fishing vessel technology specialist from Urk, Netherlands, proudly announces a new strategic partnership with Vest-El, a leading maritime electronics company with locations in Thyborøn and Hvide Sande, Denmark.
Starting June 2025, Vest-El will be the official dealer for Denmark of the VCU CatchManagement system—VCU’s solution for weighing and recording catches on board within the fishing sector. With this partnership, VCU expands its presence in the Danish market, responding to the growing demand for robust, user-friendly, and highly accurate weighing systems on fishing vessels.
The VCU CatchManagement system is already in use on the majority of active fishing vessels in the North Sea. This comprehensive solution includes motion-compensated maritime scales, industrial touchscreen terminals, label printers, and powerful data registration software—specifically designed for the daily operational needs of fishermen. A natural next step
The decision to collaborate with Vest-El is a natural next step for VCU. Due to the growing interest from the Danish fishing fleet, it was essential to partner with a company that understands the local sector and has a strong presence in the ports of Thyborøn and Hvide Sande. Several Danish and Norwegian vessels have already been successfully equipped with the VCU CatchManagement system.
Integration with the Danish E-logbook
In addition to the dealership, VCU also announces the implementation of a direct (automated) connection between the VCU CatchManagement system and the Danish E-logbook. With just one push of a button, catch data can now be seamlessly transferred to the E-logbook, significantly reducing manual entry and simplifying reporting for skippers.
